The Way to Life

Consider these words quoted from the Bible:
NOW THIS IS ETERNAL LIFE: THAT THEY MAY KNOW YOU, THE ONLY TRUE GOD, AND JESUS CHRIST, WHOM YOU HAVE SENT.

...OUR SAVIOUR, CHRIST JESUS, WHO HAS DESTROYED DEATH AND HAS BROUGHT LIFE AND IMMORTALITY TO LIGHT THROUGH THE GOSPEL.

FOR AS IN ADAM ALL DIE, SO IN CHRIST ALL WILL BE MADE ALIVE.
(The Bible: John 17:3; 2 Timothy 1:10; 1 Corinthians 15:22)

The message of the Bible is that the God who created and keeps the Universe loves you in a personal way, wants to make himself known to you, and has a wonderful purpose for your life. If he were not big enough to be able to relate to you personally, he would be less than the all-mighty God. But the message is that "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Despite all mankind’s efforts and cleverness, we are basically imperfect beings who fall far short of the standard of perfection that would give us any right to have any kind of personal relationship with a pure and holy God. There is a great gulf that separates us from God, that prevents us from experiencing God's love, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)

Mankind is continually trying to reach God and find spiritual significance through his own efforts, such as striving to live a good life, following particular philosophies or religions, or through New Age practices, etc. However, nothing from our side of the gulf, not the greatest of good works nor the most elaborate of religious ceremonies, could possibly bridge such a gap!

The true message of the Bible is, however, that God himself has already made special provision to bridge that gulf which separates us from Him by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins.

Through Jesus Christ you can indeed know and experience God's love and plan for your life. This is possible because:

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20)

The choice you make will have eternal consequences.
